It’s been quite the journey… This October marks my 33rd year with St. Vincent’s. I transferred to the US Family Health Plan side of the business in 2001 as the Director of Finance and ten years later became the Executive Director (ED). Over the years as the ED, I have attended countless meetings with colleagues, military organizations, politicians, and the like. What I find most rewarding about my role at US Family Health Plan is meeting and talking to our service members and the families who support them. I still become overwhelmed when I watch a family embrace before or after a deployment with a deep understanding as to the selfless service and commitment that each family member has made for our country. Watching the color guard raising the flags evokes that feeling of patriotism as well. I’ve met some of the most fascinating people during my travels and cemented life-long friendships with several of them. I’m honored to be invited to speak to families about our plan and take great pride in explaining what separates us from other health plans. US Family Health Plan has been serving military families for over 35 years. This is the business were in — no other. We pride ourselves on the principle of commitment. Our entire staff from the Health Benefit Advisor that greets you at a Q&A, to the Customer Service Rep who patiently helps you navigate through the benefit package, to our Medical Management team who ensures you are on the right health track, to me… the Executive Director, who holds my staff accountable for keeping our promise of providing quality care to the military families we serve with the utmost respect and professionalism. This is who we are. My journey at St. Vincent’s started in the finance office behind the scenes; but it has evolved into a spirited front office role with you as my beacon and USFHP as my anchor. US Family Health Plan has become a central part of my life. My personal commitment to this program and our membership is the cornerstone of my professional career. As 2018 nears and the looming TRICARE changes are implemented, we will be charged with continuing to be the plan of choice for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries by seeking quality and cost effective health solutions to improve the health and well-being of our members. We are dedicated, and called by duty to serve.
